Fall of an Empire

The Beginning Years (2240 - 2280)

The year is 2440. Space travel has not only become reality, but is accessible by all forms of life, and to most social classes. 200 years ago, in the Beginning Years (2240 - 2280), we discovered something that would change life forever. An alien device capable of ‘slingshotting’ one through space at warp speeds. Old and decrepit, it ceased to operate. A research team known as Alpha One was sent in to investigate the abandoned device. After years (approx. 10) of working with its components and decisive engineering, they were able to not only figure out its purpose, but how to get it into operational condition. Thus, began the Reconstruction Period. The native peoples of Earth had decided this ‘device’ was of main priority, as their planet was slowly dying due to unwise practices of business, such as deforestation, fracking, and other harmful practices. They had raped their planet of nearly every resource it had, and were looking for a new place to call “home”. The collective governments of this barren planet combined, to form the Humanitarian Outlook Society, and used the remnants of their combined resources to rebuild this alien device for the next 30 years.

The Dawn of Connection (2280 - 2320)

This era began with the completion of the Reconstruction Period. Once the alien’s device was completed, they dubbed it the Uchu Station. As one would assume, many things happened with this project coming to fruition. They discovered the existence of more stations like this one, spread throughout the galaxy. More intelligent species had been discovered as well. This period shared its fair share of good and bad things. One of said bad things was discrimination between the newfound 12 species and ourselves. One such example was the Aterian conflict in the year 2301. The HOS had made plans to make the planet similar to Earth in all but size, as it was about half the size of our home planet. It all began when a subdivision business associated with the HOS, named Outland Industries, decided to integrate parts of human travel with the like of other species’ form of travel.

This led to several issues between the members of each species, leading to a 3-month-long fight between both sides, the humans and their allies naming themselves the ‘Superiors’, whilst those against them aptly named themselves the ‘Saviours’. After 3 months of constant weapons fire, both sides decided against continuing the needless killing, and drew a ceasefire. The next three days following the event would be known in history as the Days of Reconnection. Both groups, consisting of mostly civilians and veterans of each individual species’ armies, eventually agreed upon a list of rights known as the Rights of Life. This document had been shipped to every individual species’ planets, in which it was unanimously agreed upon, and written into legislation.

The Dawn of Connection: Decade of Prosperity (2301 - 2311)

Shortly after the radicalization of the Rights of Life, celebration took hold of the galaxy. For many years, step after step was made towards the equality and prosperity of all, leading to this to be called the Decade of Prosperity. Many different advancements in technology were made as well. In just 10 years, each species had made more improvements than they had on their own in the past 200 years.
